The Lungomare Regina Margherita is one of the vital spots of Brindisi's social life and a point of reference for citizens and tourists for a relaxing walk, to eat a good ice cream and to have an aperitif in some nice company.  Keep your eyes on the ground to observe the flooring, made with different materials: from stone strips to wooden slats, passing through the black volcanic stone and the white limestone, which identifies this beautiful pedestrian area.

The Regina Margherita seafront is a symbol of the city, always teeming with life and renovated to make the traditional Sunday stroll of Brindisi even more pleasant.

In some summer seasons you will find a Ferris wheel on the western side of the boulevard, adjacent to Le Sciabiche, from which in the evening you have a beautiful view of the illuminated city and the inner harbor.

On that side of the Lungomare you will also find a number of food trucks with local specialties, crèpes and fast food. A  nice choice for everybody who is looking for a quick bite.

how to get there

The  boulevard  is located  down under on the relaxed sea-side. You may start walking the boulevard from Piazza Virgillio but you can also start at Le Sciabiche.  Both starting points are best accessible on foot during a city walk

From the seafront you can reach many points of interest, starting from the Scalinata Virgilio (stairs), named after Publio Virgilio Marone, on top of which is the Roman Column located at the point where the old Appian way reached the sea. Continuing for 5 minutes you will come across the beautiful Piazza Santa Teresa. You can reach that square by taking the steps up next to the big Fontana Vittorio Emanuele III-fountain. Be sure to do that because from up there you will have an amazing view of the sea and the boats.
